To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour. -William Blake |
The Infinite has always fascinated me

Life philosophy? Seek meaning! (Whatever
that means!)
I think that the evolution (and it has
been one very gradual evolution!) towards scientific thought has been mankind's
greatest single achievement.
I love the Net, I love it's
freedom! I
love it's tremendous potential for goodness for the whole of mankind. E-mail is the
best thing after the wheel. Whoever first said that the Net is like a central
nervous system of the collective human race got it perfectly right. It from time
to time gives me a warm tingly feeling as I get
reminded of 'Gaia' from
Asimov's
Foundation Series.
My voyage to the magical and absolutely mystical land of the bits and bytes was kicked off on a Commodore64. (The C64 is a computer with ROM-BASIC.) That was circa 1987 AD. I was pretty much addicted to programming late into the night. I think "Passionate" would be a fitting term to describe the affair. Well, enthusiasm has the nasty habit of letting off without encouragement. There was nothing by way of encouragement in India. The C64 was about unheard of in India. After brief flirtations with earlier PCs (8086 and 80286), in the summer of '96, a 486 reignited the cinders and how!. Computers reentered -more like hijacked ;)- my life. This time round, there has been no looking back. I am in love. And all these years the love has just kept growing! I had never imagined the industry could change so much in so little time! My lady love, only personified in the highs and lows of small voltage levels at steadily increasing frequencies keeps leaving me mystified and awe-struck. I just got to be part of this revolution! I am so glad that it is also my means of making a living. I have this ambition to be able to tell the kids of tomorrow that I played a role in building this Utopia! (btw I do believe that *now* is utopia too! :D).
